About the course

The program is designed as an Intermediate to Advanced Level Course focusing on the key elements in setting up a ‘simplified force system’ utilizing Damon PSL mechanics. Experienced practitioners will benefit from the review aspect and new concepts developed after 20+ years.

  • PSL – How is it diferent?
Review – Understanding the di erence in PSL Biomechanics.
  • Diagnosis – Expanding treatment protocols. Keys – The Face, Skeletal Patterns, Muscles and Dental Alveolar modeling.
  • Extraction Cases – 4’s or 5’s. Should the decision be based primarily on Anchorage or Diagnosis?
  • Treatment Protocols – Distinct yet simplified biomechanics.
    • Keys
      • Disarticulation – Bite turbos – Where and Why?
      • Strap-ups(when to fully engage and when to bypass teeth).
      • Archwire Sequence variations and elastic protocols.
      • Finishing.
  • Trouble Shooting your cases – This section is designed to demonstrate basic protocols to keep your cases running smoothly and manage problems that reduce our e ciency. The key is to recognize the problem, understand why it happened, re-act to it quickly, and resolve it e ciently. In turn, armed with this knowledge we can avoid these problems in the future.
    • Keys:
      • Rotation control – Recognize the problem and the simple fix with two key principles.
      • Torquecontrol–Mostfinishingproblemsare 3rd order control. Understanding why torque (holding couples) are the key and how to get that control early.
  • The Case for Light Forces – alveolar bone modeling(2oz.elasticprotocol) compensation in di cult cases.
  • Where are we going from here?
  • Tips and Pearls’ will be presented throughout theprogram.
